There are going to be a lot of shocked and saddened people right after the rapture I think. What a shock when they realize they were part of the scoffers crowd rather than the rapture crowd.

Their shock will begin at the beginning of the rapture, when they see all those bodies rising out of graves, meeting the angels in the clouds.
There will be many "pleasantly surprised" Christians in the "scoffers crowd" who are taken up in the Rapture. I imagine there will be a huge sigh of relief as they understand that the wrath of Almighty God being poured out on the earth without measure wasn't ever meant for the Bride of Christ. That they denied the Rapture will not negate the grace of God.
