This argument, as you know by now, is a red herring that is stinking, rotten and putrefied but that doesn't seem to stop some contentious sorts from tossing it on deck whenever they want to sway the conversation down another rabbit hole. I think it helps anyway to at least alert others who may be reading who may not be aware of this tactic. It doesn't seem to phase the herring-tossers but just maybe they will think twice the next time they are tempted - if they value their online reputation, that is.
