>>Or are you saying that any will do? If any do - then I don’t see how you can exclude the Catholic church.<<

I quess you missed this quote from the post. “Either they follow what scripture says and put their full faith in Christ alone or they don’t.” The RCC claims to be above scripture. They have incorporated many pagan practices and believes condemned by scripture.

And the CCC states, trying to have it both ways: “On the rock of this faith confessed by St Peter, Christ build his Church,” (pt. 1, sec. 2, cp. 2, para. 424) - http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p1s2c2.htm

The church being built is the only church comprised only of believers who believe the essential faith peter confessed, these being "living stones," which make up the body of Christ, the "household of faith," which Christs feeds and leads, and which transcends the different organic ecclesiastical communions in which they operate.

And their basic unity of the Spirit is based on a shared conversion and relationship with the Lord Jesus, and thus they preach Him, not their particular church. A mark of a false, cultic "church" is that they incessantly exalt and promote the latter.

So where can I find this in a phonebook?

In what dictionary does “profitable” means “excluding everything else”?

Point still stands. Show me the catalog of books since you say scripture alone is infalliable.

That is all true, but it does not say that the Bible ALONE is the source of our Teaching. And you have not shown me anything about the Bible stating that it is the pillar of truth for us.

You think that verse is a reference to a 'Church' that doesn't believe the scriptures...

The bible clearly tells us that everything we need to know to get salvation is written in the scriptures; that it alone is our source for knowledge on salvation...

People want to add school buses and Sunday School, fine...But anything having to do with salvation outside of the scriptures is automatically disqualified...No exceptions...

So, being that these books were written before the time of Christ, your assertion is that Jews didn’t write the LXX.

Fantastic logic.

The same one in which ‘sufficient’ means, ‘exclusive’

But don’t you agree that he established his church on the Apostles by breathing on them and imparting the Holy Spirit, thus giving them power to forgive sins — one of the Sacraments?

So John tells his people that he will talk to them face to face and tell them more!

John won't tell them any more that has to do with salvation for Christians...He already cleared that up...

And neither John nor any of the apostles told your religion any information outside of the scriptures...So what's the point???

My statement based on the evidence is exactly what I wrote. I’m going to have to stick with what the Jews actually claimed to believe, rather than what you claimed they believed based on Christian copies of the LXX which aren’t even all the same.

I would convert to Catholicism, but, alas, I am divorced...

Paisan, are you saying that no one can become a Catholic if they have committed a sin or done something against the instructions of the Catholic Church? That doesn't sound factual to me (admittedly a non-Catholic). If that is so, then the list of who would be eligible to become Catholics must be short indeed.

Matt 22:29 Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.

Wow! It’s obvious to me that you clearly don’t understand what scripture was teaching regarding the “ekklēsia”.

1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Frankly, Francis, I don’t get it. Why don’t the Babble thumpers who inform us daily that they speak to Jesus daily axe such questions the man hisself?!

It seems rather clear that the RCC is indeed a cult.

Acts 15:8 And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. 9 He made no distinction between us and them, for by faith he purified their hearts.
