God is a healing God, even though some people may think He is not. But the scriptures says that He is, He is The Lord that healeth thee. If you want to know how the Father is just look at Jesus. Everything about Jesus speaks of his will to heal you. He anointed Jesus with healing power, and with that power he healed all that came to him for healing. His very garment had healing power in it. Just as God established when He said, The Sun of Righteousness would arise with healing in his wings(the border of his garment). His very name has healing power. Like Peter and John at the gate called Beautiful, Peter said his(Jesus) name through faith in his name has made this man whole. Healing, healing, healing and He is The Lord that changes not. I just want to encourage people to know that God is not holding it back, it is his will that you be healed. He loves you.
I’m glad you brought this up. So many people have honest questions regarding healing. Even those who you would think would be in agreement on things such as “...and by His stripes we are healed.”, are not.
Many years ago I was told that when that actor who played Superman was paralyzed, he layed in a hospital bed next to another paralyzed man. Someone came to both of them armed with the Bible and preached healing through Faith in Jesus. One man believed and was healed; the actor would have none of it. Supposedly there’s a tape of the whole thing. But I’ve never come across it. Do you know anything about this or have any comments?
so if you aren’t healed, that means God doesn’t love you?
Or maybe it means it’s your own fault for not “believing” enough.
Or maybe it means you are an evil sinner, so don’t expect your family or neighbors to help you when you are sick...
Yes and no.
It means you don’t have enough “faith” to be healed.
It means there’s sin in your life.
Or there are generational curses you need to deal with.
Or you’re not doing it right.
Or anything else that puts the blame for not being healed on the person who is afflicted.
There’s lots of bad theology about healing floating around Christendom these days.
If/when a believer is healed, it is through the stripes that Jesus took for the healing, but the verse does not guarantee healing to every person who asks simply because Jesus took the stripes.
All it is telling us is the mechanism for our healing WHEN IT HAPPENS.
I didn’t say any of those things. And there could be a number of reasons why a person is not healed. You can’t just put everybody a one group and say that’s the reason.
