It really burns up. Smith corrupted even that, for the Spirit of the Lord can as it were, burn within us. But it is a holy fire, not to be mistaken for thoughts and "feelings" which as I myself was taught, "spirits" can work upon within us, influencing our thoughts and emotions.
To: Elsie
JS got some "weird, false empty feeling"s from HIS experiences in MormonISM! I'd be hard pressed to think of any religion that doesn't ascribe incidents of supernatural weirdness to the characters portrayed in their respective scriptures.

I plan to 'visit' during it's Open House. That you put 'visit' in quotes implies that you're going there with something else in mind, although what that would escapes me.
After the opening ceremonies are over; they WILL be holding a Cleansing ceremony; to rid the building, no doubt, of the "weird, false empty" spirits that were brought in by so many UNWORTHY visitors.

really??
I am going to be praying against the evilness that permeates the entire Mormon/LDS empire. That souls that would be entangled in it would be loosed shortly to proclaim the TRUE word of GOD.

"One man's theology is another man's belly laugh". ---Robert A. Heinlein One man's comparative religion is another's proof of at least ONE being real and the others being false.
(some would say it's proof of them ALL being false.)

"Evilness"? Please. When I think of an evil religion, Mormonism is the last thing that comes to mind, the first being Islam. I judge people based on their actions, not how absurd I find their scriptures...and I don't see Mormons committing homicide bombings. That's a Muslim specialty, as is conversion at the point of a gun.
If a Mormon church were to move into my neck of the woods, my reaction would be, "Good for them, they make good neighbors".

(some would say it's proof of them ALL being false.) It hardly rises to the level of proof, but it is an illustration of the futility of trying to argue that one's faith is objectively true.

Sorry; but I judge their chosen religion against the Bibles teachings. To each their own; all I care about is their actions. They can worship anything from Zeus to The Flying Spaghetti Monster for all I care as long as they're good neighbors. Or, to put it another way:
But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.
