Alexander Campbell published the first critique of the original Book of Mormon. His former assistant became one of the original Mormon founders, to Alexander’s consternation.

It was Sidney Rigdon. I, personally, believe he was the one who wrote most of the Book of Mormon, due to his knowledge of ancient languages.

Alexander got a copy of the first edition of the Book of Mormon and absolutely tore it apart in his “Millennial Harbinger.”
