God so loved the world that he gave his only son in order that man MIGHT be saved. Well, who “might” be saved? A “few” per Christ's own words. “Many”(translated Most)will go to “destruction”-The words of the one who was sent that the world might be saved. Neither God nor Christ will help you if you have the misfortune to be born into or acquire wealth. You have probably “bought the farm” if you refuse to give up your wealth to the prisoner, diseased, drunken drugged adulterers and deprive your innocent siblings, wife and children of their basic needs. Christ said it was easier to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven after he had observed the young virtuous rich man go away sorrowing, Christ interpreted the young man's actions as an abnormal love of money when maybe it was sorrow about his having to impoverish his family.

So we are really faced with many of us going to hell with God's and Christ's approval. There we will roast and pop screaming in pain for all eternity while God, Christ and the Saints will look down upon us with joy and pleasure. Remember Lazarus and "The Rich Man?"this of course make God and Christ a pair of sadist's The only hope being that maybe after God, Christ and the Saints become bored with watching the rest of us suffer God simply annihilates the many and thus gives them respite. That would be mercy.

In short, I"m not too impressed with what I read and hear about God's "love" about which some human love seems better.

THAT, i must honestly say, is an ignorant miscontruance of what the Lord and the Bible taught.

Jesus never said simply having riches was wrong or damnable, and affirmed Abraham who was, but stated the fact that it is hard for the rich to be saved, because it typically gives them a false sense of security, that thrt they need not God, and also tends to result in selfishness due to making wealth their God.

In addition, the Bible nowhere rewarding indolence and neglect of real familial needs or promotes a welfare state and the liberal victim-entitlement mentality and instead reveals that as being from Hell (see post 142 above).

And instead, those whom Christ held were truly afflicted such as being blind, one who will not provide for his own is worse than an infidel.

But yes, "broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat," (Matthew 7:13) as men love sin, and some even engage creating a straw man God of the Bible in order to justify their rejection of Him. "6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)" (Psalms 49:6-8)

That's not at all what Jesus thought! If you go back to what the rich dude asked he said, "What must I do to inherit the kingdom of God?". He then proceeded to describe all the reasons why he deserved it. Regarding the commandments, "All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”. The point is that we CAN'T earn our way or deserve or merit heaven. Even if we gave all our money to the poor, it wouldn't buy us eternal life. This is something God gives us by GRACE and we receive it by FAITH.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
