"She puts herself on a pedestal and then, when caught with her pants down, explains that she’s no different than “public education”or “the baptists” or “these protestants”."

That you hold the Church, and her adherents and clergy, to a higher standard than you do other religious and secular institutions shows that the pedestal is of your construction. It is, however a public acknowledgment that the Church is indeed special"

"From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more." - Luke 12:48

Clergy abuse is counter to Church teaching and no other institution in the world has a lower rate of abuse than does the Church. Let's not forget that every organization comprised of fallible persons and ordered to redemption and forgiveness will be a victim of its charity.

Peace to you

Baloney. THEY hold themselves up as taking the moral high ground. And someone who catches them in their obvious hypocrisy and calls them on it, is NOT acknowledging that they're "special", it's simply pointing out what EVERYONE but Catholics see. Their blatant double standard. Pretending to be something everyone knows they're not.
