Considering the relative rarity of Podengos, I assume my Olive is more of a pitbull, tho from the withers back, the two look similar.
Technical issues interfere w/ posting a pic. Olive is a hunter, tho for now she’s dedicated to harassing the birds who foolishly built their nest in the ashcan below my grill.
Northern CA and New England is lousy with them.
The Portuguese immigrants breed them for hunting and discard them like Kleenex.
Gyp and her sister came from CA out of a shelter.
I raised the money via an art auction through the Ibizan Club to free them and fly them out.
I have Gyp and my friend in NE has her sister Darby.
What started as an impulsive rescue turned out to be one of the best things I ever did.
I’m very fortunate to have her in my life.
