Halla the puppy has crashed
OMGoodness! My Rocket loved raw ground beef.
Once when I was making patties, a bit fell on the floor, and I never saw that old
laid-back cat move so fast or eat so fast and immediately sniff around for more.
That was henceforth a ritual on Saturday nights, when Bryan and I have burgers
and watch movies. I would crumble a tablespoon of raw ground beef onto a
saucer, and he would tuck in.
The first time he sniffed and walked away, I knew he didn’t have long.
It’s odd, because all I have left are three basement cats, but I keep finding white
cat hairs near my computer. They’re Heavenly cat-pennies from my Rocket.
And I hear an AMEN! from our raw fed pup ; }
Good morning, with prayers renewed for another better day for you all.

Two spoons nested together, with the pill in the bowl of the bottom spoon, is how my mom used to do it for me. She would crush the offending pill, and mix the powder into a dollop of grape jam :):)
I would imagine you could make a good sized dent in a ball of ground chuck, carefully pour the powder into the center, and close it up with a little more ground beef to keep the smell and taste of any medicine hidden inside - sneaky madre alert ; )
Also, Sal, have you looked into homeopathy? I know a lot of folks discount it, but it has worked several times for us, including making my ganglion cyst DISAPPEAR completely.
I have an “internet friend” who is a practioner, and I have taken the liberty to ask her. Will let you know what she says. *he is also a “dog lady”, smiles, and I thought of her first thing this morning.
Take care all, and may God bless.

Sheesh - practitioner, AND “She is...”
Must be earlier than I thought ;}
Tatt
Indeed. TheOldLady’s reminiscence was wonderful as well. Tis one of the many reasons I enjoy FR so much - there are so many folks here who have a wonderful way with words.
Thank You Lord, for all of the creatures we share our lives with.

I hope she is doing better today.
Will she eat eggs?
When my Gypsy was suffering with liver disease I would have to crush her tea pills and put them in gelatin capsules to get her medicine down her.
Her disease caused her not to want to eat, same as Halla. We fed her anything we could get her to eat. For several weeks it would be Junior Burgers from Sonic, then Spanish Rice from one particular Mexican restaurant, then oven-baked fish, etc. It was/is exhausting, I’m sorry you are having to go through this.
She ate even more raw ground chuck today so we’re pretty ticked with that.
Every day, every little tail wag, every little crazy nip-fest or outburst of “zoomies” is a small miracle.
One day at a time.
Not sure about eggs but I have a feeling she’d probably turn up her dainty little snoot at them.
98% lean ground beef is not cheap.
Eggs are.
I think she knows the difference.
:-\
Luke, Katie, and I are pulling for her and y’all.
Have you any ground deer meat connections? It is lean, free, and very healthy. I have a guy in Maryland I could call that would prolly donate some.
"outburst of zoomies" LOL we get that a lot here as well.
I have a bunch in the freezer.
Saving the best for last...:)
I love zoomies.
:)
A little Prima Donna, eh? I LOVE it!!!
Wealthy stuck up snob, you! WE used to only get sugar water in our 2-spoons-crushed-up-meds. Harrrrrrrruuuummmph.
:)
Wonderful news (ignoring the expense)!
I love the zoomies, especially the butt-tuck run.
The largest room in our house has a vinyl floor covering with a 6' by 4' rug in the middle. When butt-tuck-zooming scallywags come into contact with that rug it turns into a magic carpet ride. When it finally comes to a halt the look on their faces as they sit there watching us bust a gut laughing is priceless.I reckon some mutts are living cartoons.
It’s great to hear hopeful news. Thank you for the happy update.
Still praying for all in the Salamander house.
Can’t hurt to try; if one of your other dogs*loves* eggs, perhaps she’d be convinced they are a *special* treat and will want one to get the “good stuff”.
Keep us updated; I am praying for you and Halla.
Gypsy would only eat eggs if we cooked them with a little barbeque sauce. She went through a period of time where she would eat most anything if we put barbeque sauce on it. Eggs, white rice, hamburger, you name it. Except kibble, once the disease really took hold, she never ate kibble again.
I remember how she just loved pulled pork. We would keep trying to give her different, more healthy things, but as long as there was pulled pork in the refrigerator, she was going to have that! (smiling, through tears at the memory.)
Way to go, Halla!! (I’m sorry for the expense, Sal)
Halla maybe a kindred spirit...I can’t have junk food...then you best feed me the best of the best. :)
Hope you are feeling better as well, Salamander.
Still keeping ya’ll in my prayers.
