And then, Oh So Foolishly I said a couple of days ago... “Man, the coyotes have been quiet lately”....

How dumb.

I think Mr. & Mrs. Coyote are out for the night and left the kids alone. Holy cow are they loud.

8-)

Glad to see Salamander a little more like Halla would be used to.You're obviously a good friend to her BG,it's a good thing to watch you and Sal share doggie tales.Nice to be able to have a chuckle and hopefully for Sal,some sleep.

I'm finding myself thinking a lot about little Halla, how she's doing, what she's up to.The little buggers get to you don't they. They stir up something very very deep.

Praying this week is better than the last.God bless

Yeah...I’ve been thinking of Halla and OUR friend Sal, too. A lot.

Those animals DO get into your heart...especially...(running now, fast) a German Shepherd Dog. :)

*waves hi to Sal as I’m running*

ps

As we speak (type)...I feel her beady little eyes...plotting her revenge.

I am SERIOUSLY outta here now...

Nah.

No revenge.

If anybody wants to kick my arse, now’s a good time to do it.

No fight in me a’tall.

My puppy won’t eat.

She’s hungry but she doesn’t want anything I offer her.

No cooked meat.

No dog food.

She just wants to eat Pupperoni bits.

Cottage cheese? Crunch up a few pieces if kibble and hide it in there?

Oh man...come on Halla! EAT!!

:(

Get some Nutri-Cal. That stuff is my go to for sick critters without appetite. You are familiar with it, I am sure.

Got some.

She can only go so far on that, though.

She needs to eat real food, too.

:(

Suddenly she doesn’t like cottage cheese anymore.

Likes cream cheese but that’s empty calories.

She’ll eat peanut butter sandwiches but there’s the intestinal blockage issue to worry about.

We’ve tried some of the craziest things you could imagine.

Things might smell ‘off’ to her now because of the damage to her olfactory area.

Got her to eat some salmon after she tried to vacuum my face off after I’d eaten some.

Salmon’s good!

OK. Cream cheese with kibbles in it?

Probably not cooked chicken, if she’s being this fussy...

??

As soon as I add kibble to the equation, she balks.

Spits it out on the floor.

I must have 10 different kinds of dog food for her, now.

Even that weird stuff from PetCo that looks like a huge roll of bologna, ept in the refrigerator case.

Lenny said it was good.

[he was trying to ‘fake her out’]

He’s taking this very hard.

This is his first time experiencing The Power of The Dog.

He expects me to find her Another Answer.

There are none.

That’s sad...I don’t know what to say other than to add FURTHER to the prayers to include his gentle giant heart...

That little stinker, to spit it out on the floor. Look at your little finger. Yep. That is indeed Halla, wrapped right around it. Is she “playing” you at this moment?

How is she when the rest of the pack is eating?? Is she interested at all?

She’s not allowed in with the other dogs due to her condition but when we allow small Gypsy in to play with her, she just wants to play, not eat.

She has no concept of food competitiveness.

Sadly, no desire to eat or drink is a symptom of hydrocephalus.

I’ve been noticing her increasing ‘fussiness’ for several weeks but thought it was due to her impending first heat.

I guess not.

Yes, when she feels like it, now.

She used to shove them at us so we’d throw them and she’d chase them for hours.

Not any more.

I have a pill splitter.

Well, my one “brilliant” idea was, since you said she’ll play with one of the other dogs...

Crush the dog food up into powder if you can, make patties out of the salmon IF IT CAN EVEN BE DONE...I don’t even know if it can..., make BALLS out of the concoction and play catch with both dogs.

I don’t know. I’m wracking my brain here trying to figure out ways to get some water/nutrition into her.

If she likes to lick on you...heck, get some sodium free broth and dip your hands in it.

Want me to stop thinking? I will.........your call, my friend, you call.

I love you..

MY dog. MY dweeb...she decided to tear across the backyard today after a bird. Well, she lost her footing and slid about 3-4 ??? feet across the grass, landing in some river rock that run the inside perimeter of the fence. All of this on the worst of the two hips, mind you.

She DID get right back up and walked OK, but she came right over to me to lay down. Until the next bird flew by...

And then she and I went inside so she’d settle her body down.
