How wonderful that the world celebrates this day....because no matter if they believe in Christ or not they “trim” their homes with those things all which point to Christ.
As for using stories “wrapped in Religion”.....Well even Jesus spoke in Parables to “point” his listeners. In fact he was quite a story teller.....
Jesus used word-pictures, images, and "characters" to create a miniature play or drama to illustrate his message. His stories appealed to the young and old, poor and rich, and to the learned and unlearned as well....He loved to use illustrations to reach the heart of his listeners.... ‘through their imagination’.
So...I prefer drawing children to Christ via all the “trimmings” and “stories” surrounding the Christmas Season...and they enjoy every bit of it.
Very well put, thanks.
‘tis the reason for the season...
Yes, it's amazing how believers and non-believers are so closely yoked together in worship! Oh..wait...
2Co 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
2Co 6:15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
You know, the Lord Jesus Christ actually GAVE his followers holy days to observe. You can find these holy days of the Lord our God in Leviticus chapter 23. The traditional church didn't have to get rid of Jesus's holy days and create their own holidays, but I guess that's something they chose to do. Fortunately it's never too late to come back to the real Jesus.
