I feel the same frustration you do. It is part of the reason I left the church. As to the question of not letting biden and pelosi take communion; that would have set up precedent what will happen to people who not only sin by making evil laws, but lead others into sin. My guess is that the new pope wanted to start in peace. Like all parents do, you lay down the rules and then enforce them. Hopefully he will make it clear who can and cannot take communion and then enforce it. That is my prayer.
I was angry at the church a long time because of many things. Today I realize no church has it all right. I don't believe in many of the Catholic Churches beliefs, but they believe in the Trinity and other things I do believe in. I have friends who today have bibles and go to Catholic bible study. The church is changing and I know my friends are right with God according to scripture. The Christian and Catholic Churches are under attack and we better stick together. It will strengthen us to be as one even with our differences. My parents church is Assembly of God and I don't share many of their beliefs, but I know they are right with God by their testimony and actions.
Yep. We should all be one. God did not send Jesus to teach for 3 years and then take off and leave us alone to work things out.
Well, we have a new pope. We can always pray that things will change for the better. My head burst when I heard he was Jesuit. IMO, ( and I don't want to prejudge), He strikes me as a pope that will speak of the advantages of communism over capitalists. I'm already concerned now that he says we must take care of the planet and is carping on governments taking care of the poor. I've seen it all my life, especially Jesuits. The preach Jesus was a communist and get the church and government confused. I was taught THE CHURCH is to take care of the poor. To place that burden on government just takes God's principles out of the church.
I can't explain why more and more Catholics vote for abortion and gay marriage so they can score big on a government check. I spend way too much of my Spiritual time fretting over the fall of the church. We will completely collapse, IMO, all the while I'm told everything is great. I'm sure the Lutherans heard the same thing as they got lesbian preachers and pushed abortion for their female members. Catholics just say, "Well, that's them, not us".
“The Christian and Catholic Churches are under attack and we better stick together. It will strengthen us to be as one even with our differences”.
You are absolutely right. It worries me to see Christians attack each other and call those who worship differently “cults” and such.
If only non-sinners were allowed to take communion, there would be no one taking it. That is the reason why you are supposed to go to a priest and admit, openly, your sins and ask the Lord for forgiveness. If you don’t admit you have sinned, then you are living a fantasy. The pro-abortion folks who claim to be Christian are living in this fantasy.
