Right! I consider ANY DEPICTION that gets people to listen, talk about, or wonder about Christ a completely successful endeavor. Do you believe ‘ol Jonah got swallowed by a whale? Well good for you. But even the people who wrote the Bible exaggerate it to make their point. Nothing at all wrong with that to turn people in the right direction and away from sin. Anyone who turned off American Idol to watch The Bible was thusly swayed. Who cares about literal accuracy... It is getting people, in any way possible, to look toward Christ that counts in this sadly secular age. ...and you know what? I’m RIGHT...why? Because that is what I believe and it makes me strong. Don’t try to diminish my joy with your word for word fundamentalism...a turnoff and reason why people watch American Idol ...because it is less interesting than A.M. But the Bible blew them away in the ratings! Hooray for God!!!!
SO RIGHT ON!!!! I think hyperbole was used in the Bible fables, and yet if it is not identical to the interpretation of Hebrew by English writers... IT’S WRONG!!!
I think that is wrong. Just my humble opinion as a Christian.
