So Law no longer has a Catholic title, and no longer lives within the church properties, and is now just a regular Joe pew sitter that has to find his own non-Catholic place to live and his own car and everything, just paying all of his own bills, rent, food, repairs, on his pension alone?

It was quite emphatically reported that Pope Francis was offended at his presence, I'm not sure what was meant by the report when it said that officials would arrange for him someplace else to live. Were they going to simply help him relocate, or provide some sort of more modest accommodations. I don't know if you saw any of the photos of the Vatican "hotel" that the cardinals stayed at, but their lodging consisted of a small room with a twin bed and a small desk.
