Or, perhaps we could stop posting the half mountain of Catholic specific stuff on FR and stick with news, activism and politics, since that is the primary purpose of this forum, not telling other Christians they’re not really Christian and are damned to hell for not following the “one true church”.
Thank you for saying so. I agree and have stated it many times. Just since Free Republic came back online yesterday, the Religion Forum was bombarded with Catholic Church-related threads as if these poor souls had nowhere else to turn to get their daily "fixes". All the daily threads usually posted STILL got posted for the days lost during downtime! For someone new coming here it would appear that Free Republic is an extension of the Vatican. It would be nice if threads that were in the RF could actually BE related to current events that have a religious "flavor", as this was the main reason why the category was created in the first place - a way for those who had no interest in religious discussions could avoid even seeing them.
As it stands, they have been allowed to continue to dominate the forum and attempts by others to dispute their conclusions are usually met with snark, scorn, condemnation and hostility. Threads such as this one are prime examples of PROVOCATION of non-Catholics and it would be nice if those who continue to post them - often the SAME ones year after year as if nobody had ever answered them - could refrain in the interest of what is best for Free Republic and not as tools of condescension and adversity. I don't imagine it will stop or slow down, do you? I wonder how much $$$, collectively, this one group contributes monthly to FR?
