Enoch is a direct descendant of the Noah bloodline (Genesis 5, verses 18-19.), and one of only 2 prophets directly ascended into heaven without experiencing death. The book of Enoch was not included in the scriptures when The First Council of Nicaea took place.
Chapter 18 9-16
9. And I saw a flaming fire. And beyond these mountains 10. is a region the end of the great earth: there the heavens were completed. 11. And I saw a deep abyss, with columns ⌈⌈of heavenly fire, and among them I saw columns⌉⌉ of fire fall, which were beyond measure alike towards the height and towards the depth. 12. And beyond that abyss I saw a place which had no firmament of the heaven above, and no firmly founded earth beneath it: there was no water upon it, and no birds, but it was a waste and horrible place. 13. I saw there seven stars like great burning mountains, and to me, when I inquired regarding them, 14. The angel said: 'This place is the end of heaven and earth: this has become a prison for the stars and the host of heaven. 15. And the stars which roll over the fire are they which have transgressed the commandment of the Lord in the beginning of their rising, because they did not come forth at their appointed times. 16. And He was wroth with them, and bound them till the time when their guilt should be consummated (even) ⌈for ten thousand years⌉.'

Sounds like the Fallen Angels that followed satan in the first earth age.

Of course, St Jude quotes from — or, at least alludes to — the Book of Enoch in verses 14-15 of the penultimate New Testament epistle, as follows:

What I think we can be looking at this book is that it could be inspired the way a christian book by a believer is today. But it is not scripture but still can touch our spirit. The Early church fathers maybe saw this because why would it even be considered. I remember I read this so many years ago but do not remember the whole writing. Interesting though. Thank you for posting.
This sounds to me like the place referred to as Tartarus, where certain fallen angels were imprisoned after the flood.

I agree. It is a book by a Prophet of God nonetheless. Don’t get me wrong, there is no other book for me but the Holy Bible, and I wholeheartedly believe in Jesus our Lord. Nothing would deviate from from Him. We are given free will and I love knowledge about God. If anything reading these other books further affirm my belief in Him, his love for humanity. What a lot of people don’t understand is that in Jesus sacrificing Himself for us, He established a new Covenant.. His last commandment to us is that new Covenant. We are bound to His sacrifice, and through Him salvation is again within reach. The Books are for instruction and knowledge.

Two verses from the book of Enoch are in the recognized, inspired word of God. Those two verses alone are eternal, timeless and priceless.
Compare that to the book of 1 and 2 Maccabees. Although not xcriptue, they nonetheless are valid historical resources.
