ok, i listened to disk #4 from approx the 29 minute mark until 65 minutes later and can only draw the following conclusion, rood is a:

1. deceiver
2. ignorant
3. or both, since they are not mutually exclusive

let’s start where rood and i agree, namely Jesus rose from the dead ON THE THIRD DAY.

the question then must be asked, the THIRD DAY from what?
again, rood and i would both agree the THIRD DAY from his death.

we further agree that the Scriptures tell us on what day Jesus rose from the dead.

so much for agreement, let’s look at where rood is WRONG and Christianity has been correct for close to 2,000 years.

let me stop for a second and say that since using the names our society uses for the days of the week offends the religious sensibilities of some on here ( although i am sure the hypocrites use terms like thursday and sunday every day of their life! ), i will use the numerical names for days from now on.

rood claims that when Jesus said he would be in the grave 3 days and 3 nights, just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale, this must mean a literal 3 days and 3 nights. fair enough. the problem he has, is when you listen to him, he claims Jesus died on the fourth day and He rose on the 7th day! ladies and gentlemen, this means Jesus would have been in the grave 4 days and 3 nights, which VIOLATES rood’s own literal standard of Matthew 12:40.
again, either the man is ignorant or a deceiver. rood claims a fourth day death and burial, but ignores the fourth day altogether and starts counting the 3 day and 3 nights with the 5th, 6th and 7th days.
IGNORE THAT FOURTH DAY, PAY NO ATTENTION TO IT! ( btw, editor-surveyor also seems to ignore the 4th day, whoops! )

rood is either too ignorant or wants to deceive you on how days are counted in the Bible.

i already showed that in Exodus 19 and Luke 13, the counting starts with the event itself, so day one is always the day of the event you are counting from.

not convinced?

well, isn’t is wonderful that the Holy Spirit inspired Luke to write not only his gospel, but also the book of Acts.
Acts 10 is irrefutable in showing how days are to be counted in the Scriptures.

in Acts 10:30, Cornelius says four days ago this hour, he was praying. if rood was counting, he would say it was three days ago, but does rood agree with the Scriptures?
let’s see how Cornelius can say it was four days since his prayer.

Acts 10:3 Cornelius has the vision of the angel - day one
Acts 10:9 Peter has his vision - day two
Acts 10:23 Peter journeys - day three
Acts 10:24 Peter arrives at Cornelius’s house - day four

Conclusive proof from Luke that when you start counting days from an event, the day of the event is DAY ONE.

rood completely ignores this, i wonder why??

The Scriptures absolutely tell us on what day Jesus rose from the dead, and from that day, we can absolutely determine on which day He died.

THE KEY IS TO REMEMBER THE NUMEROUS SCRIPTURE VERSES WHICH SAY JESUS ROSE ON “THE THIRD DAY”

THE SECOND KEY IS TO REMEMBER HOW DAYS ARE COUNTED IN THE SCRIPTURES ( Exodus 19, Luke 13 and Acts 10 )

Luke 24 takes place on the first day of the week. The two disciples were walking to Emmaus when they encountered the risen Christ, THAT VERY DAY (v13 ) and they recounted to Him how Jesus was condemned to death and was crucified and then came v21........yes, and besides all this, IT IS NOW THE THIRD DAY SINCE THESE THINGS HAPPENED”

THERE YOU HAVE IT, THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK WAS THE THIRD DAY SINCE THE DEATH OF JESUS.
WE KNOW HE WAS TO BE RAISED “ON THE THIRD DAY”, SO IT IS WITH 100% CERTITUDE WE CAN SAY JESUS ROSE ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, ON THE FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS.
Now, if we know with 100% certitude Jesus rose on the first day of the week, then we also know with absolute certitude that He died on the sixth day of the week. Counting days as the Bible counts days:

sixth day - day one
seventh day - day two
first day - the third day or day three

what about “three days and three nights”? this is an idiomatic expression that a first century Jew would know means the same as three days or after three days.

what about the high sabbath day? it is clear that the high sabbath day occurred on the 7th day, so it was the regular sabbath day and the high sabbath day ( probably 33ad )
rood tries to be slick and insert two sabbath days between Luke 23:54 and Luke 24:1, but the Scriptures NEVER say there were two sabbaths that week.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

It matters because cultists like rood, the way, mormons, seventh day adventists, herbert armstrong, jehovah witnesses, etc. use hard verses like Matthew 12:40 to attack the Church and make it easier for them to lead people astray with the following FALSE DOCTRINES:

denying the Divinity of Christ
denying the Trinity
keeping the 7th Day Sabbath
salvation by works and not grace

Don’t be fooled by these latter false prophets that Jesus told us would arise!

There was something else you slipped in, during one of your rants, that I wanted to call you on:

It matters because cultists like rood, the way, mormons, seventh day adventists, herbert armstrong, jehovah witnesses, etc [JEWS Perhaps?]. use hard verses like Matthew 12:40 to attack the Church and make it easier for them to lead people astray with the following FALSE DOCTRINES:

denying the Divinity of Christ
denying the Trinity
keeping the 7th Day Sabbath
salvation by works and not grace

FYI:

Constantine decreed (March 7, 321) dies Solis—day of the sun, "Sunday"—as the Roman day of rest:

On the venerable day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country however persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits because it often happens that another day is not suitable for grain-sowing or vine planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost.

Constantine's triumphal arch was carefully positioned to align with the colossal statue of Sol by the Colosseum, so that Sol formed the dominant backdrop when seen from the direction of the main approach towards the arch.

Rood stated that Constatine was a Sun God worshiper until the day he died. After seeing a number of coins Constatine had minted with his face on one side and Sol on the other, I tend to agree.

Coin of Emperor Constantine I depicting Sol Invictus with the legend SOLI INVICTO COMITI, circa 315.

So, who is "following FALSE DOCTRINES" concerning the keeping of the Sabbath?
