Stan’s favorite joke when he went to Rome and met a Cardinal was to say that he was one, too. He met John Paul II, and later went to Poland to kind of promote the game of baseball. Oh, the good old days when Dimaggio was a Yankee, only, Williams was a Red Sox only, and Musial, A Cardinal only. The irony is that if the Cardinals had traded Musial to a New York team, they would have loved him as much as St. Louiis did. Musial was not appreciate by the managers during the his last few years. and his production fell off. But what a great guy.

my son took a Stan “the Man” Musial autographed baseball, from a collector as a tip for installing an appliance in the guys house....

...pretty good tip for a Yankees fan...(we respect ‘The Man’ here in NY....like we respect Ted Williams and Hank Aaron).
