It only is if families actually are stupid enough to go shopping. I went to church then ate thanksgiving dinner with friends. To h*** with corporate greed.
The only exception I would make is if someone urgently needs medical-type supplies or something really essential unexpectedly. One year I was overjoyed that K-Mart was open where I could buy lidocaine ointment for some burning skin pain. But that’s not what this article is about, obviously.
