...Romney keeps his focus simple: fix the economy. But others are fixated on something else: his faith.
SNIP
Some call it a cult...
Yet Mormons call themselves Christians, which raises eyebrows, especially within evangelical circles.
Shawn McCraney is a former Mormon who now hosts a show called, 'Heart of the Matter," where he witnesses to Mormons in Salt Lake City.
"...I didn't know the Lord and that led me to an internal angst."
"What happened was I came to realize that there was nothing I could do to get myself right before God -- where with Mormonism...it's you have to do it," he explained. "He gives you the opportunity, but it's up to you to perform, and I couldn't perform."
...any controversy over a Mormon president may...center on...whether Romney would put loyalty to the Mormon Church ahead of anything else.
Former Mormon and author Michael Moody has written the book, Mitt, Set Our People Free...
"When I was a little boy, the Mormon prophet was a more important man than the president of the United States," Moody told CBN News.
"Mitt Romney has knelt in the Mormon temples," he noted. "He has taken an oath of consecration. He has taken an oath of sacrifice. He has said that he will sacrifice everything that he is, and give all of his talents, and everything that he has and is to the Mormon Church."
...Moody said a Romney victory would be a big deal for the Mormon Church.
"If Mitt Romney gets in the White House, it's going to be a sign to all of the Mormon people that they're on the right path, that this is the truth, and it's going to help perpetuate their missionary program. It's going to put the Mormon Church in a more powerful position..."

Keep up the good work, Mormonism must be exposed, it is an eternal issue.
My family member left FR because they became disgusted at the hostility towards people exposing Mormonism, they said don’t start posting again - I should have listened.
It appears there are some people so consumed with fear they are not capable of seeing the eternal.
Because the default settings of this website insist upon making this regrettable forum visible to me and anyone else who visits FR.
1. Here is MHGinTN, commenting on Sept. 24, 2007 in a RELIGION thread on a NON-Romney thread...in fact, almost hijacking colorcountry's thread in a Romneyfied direction (yours was only the SECOND post of the thread)...as Colorcountry's comment in post #1 neither mentioned Romney...nor did the thread content itself: "Can have people intimately familiar with the Mormonism heresies telling others the truth now can they! Weve seen here at FR how the dissembling and deceit runs deep within Mormonism. It will be too easy for the dnc goons to destroy Romney over Mormonism, so the Pubbies cannot afford to nominate that man.

2. I don't even have to go back to '07 to uncover one of these...Here is MHG on Feb. 3, 2012 stating on a RELIGION thread (post #7) stating: Milt will never be the President. If the establishment pubbies elect the two-faced abortionist, the media will make the LDS porpaganda ads (And Im A Mormon) trying to make MormonISM attractive look like the greatest campaign of evil ever devised. And all the media whoredom need do is keep hammering on the actual things taught in that faux-christianity religion. ... Which is of course yet another very sound reason to vote for Newt Gingrich, warts and all, rather than destroy the comity of this nation over a MormonISM tantrum to get elected president

3. Back in December 2007...
On December 6 2007...MHG claimed it wasn't simply us placing the focus more on Mormonism (than his liberal history)...but Mitt Romney himself! You said: "Squeal about posts like the one previous to mine demanding replay of doctrine for discussion and someone might, MIGHT think you were being genuine. Is Mittys strategy to make his Mormonism cult more a focal point than his liberal history finally wearing on your Mitt supporters?"
Source: Romney takes leap of faith with religion speech
Now indeed this last one was in the News-Activism section...but still...twas one of those common intersection threads ("faith" stuff being talked about on news section; and "politics" stuff being discussed in the religion forum...because, the world isn't as neatly "compartmentalized" as MHG would now like to dictate to everybody).
That was...until Romney became the last political Messiah-hope to beat Obama...
And, MHG decided 'twas better to oppose Obama and sell out his past statements about Romney & Mormonism.
Now, if MHG lived in a genuine swing state...I really couldn't blame him for voting for Romney.
But he's not. He lives in Tennessee. There AIN'T NO WAY Obama will take Tennessee...
If MHG and EVERY OTHER TN FReeper voted for Virgil Goode, Romney wouldn't miss their votes for one sec...he'd roll onto to an easy win over Obama...
So, in MH's fantasyland, perhaps he somehow sees himself as casting "THE" deciding vote for Romney in TN...
BOTTOM LINE
You titla read:
“Does Faith Matter? Yes Indeed!!! Lest we have a false god leader”
If you are against Romney, then there’s only one other choice.
Reconcile that for us. Give us your wisdom. Tell us why we should allow the muslim 4 more years - more that enough time for him and his handlers to finish our country and our freedoms.
Hatred destroys. It appears your hatred rules over reason.
We don’t need more pages of copy pasted screed about Mormons - you posture we shouldn’t vote for Romney - now tell us the alternative...for there will be.
Otherwise, perhaps you should wipe the froth off and take a nap
You as always are correct.
Huh?
On our state ballot there will be about fifteen choices, plus not voting for president.
You DO know that you are under no obligation to open the thread, to read it, or to post on it despite the fact that it visible? No one is forcing you. But if you are going to post, try refuting some of Colofornian's facts rather than launching into ad hominem attacks.
Sorry, I forgot to ping you on the previous post.
People have to do what they have to do. When I was growing up, some of my friends were recent immigres from the Ukraine and Cuba. They gave everything to get to a country that respects freedom and liberty. I will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I can to make sure that Obama is NOT a second termer. That is not a compromise of my principles.
which is why you do not know what you were talking about.
Gosh the general question of can we have a mormon as president (based solely on the question faith——it was a faith based question that you posed) sure turned into a political discussion with some of the responses. You asked a question based on religion and I assumed you wanted comments and dialog. You did not respond in kind.
done with your thread
I’m not interested in what he has to say.
What does stand out to me is that apparently some Christians cannot live and let live. I don’t see any Mormons on here criticizing Christian beliefs, so afford them the same courtesy they afford you.
If that’s your ‘discernment’ you might want to check what spirit is within you. I’ve been openly debating and opposing the ISM for a decade AT FREEREPUBLIC. You really should learn when to keep your trap shut, but that is grist for another mill ...
You’re a poor mind reader.
Nope. You are defending Mormonism, apparently you are not aware of it.
Good bye.
