Sister Miller is, sadly, one of the many Catholics who believe that the correct and heavenly government is a communist regime. These Catholics have the same mental disorder as most Democratics; that is, the only reason communism hasn't worked yet is 1) the right people have not been in place to run it, and 2) free enterprise has stifled noble communism and created untold suffering in its wake.

These people, like Sister Miller, can not be reasoned with, cajoled, or shown the error of their misperception. They are dyed-in-the-wool communists with an odd, religious fervor that brooks no argument.

All you need to know about the good Sister is that she would vote for a Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Fidel Castro, or Barack Obama over the Pope for public office.

Yeah, some people are deficient in the open-to-persuasion department, but I wouldn't jus assume tha she's completely closed off to reason. I used to be quite a leftist, and I could tell you about some memorable moments when somebody had a serious private conversation with me, sent me an article, wrote me a note, confronted me in public or otherwise jolted me into considering another point of view.

Very often people like Se. Paricia Miller have never been offered a serious countervailing argument. They literlly think they have the only legitimate point of view, because they are entirely unexposed to anythng different.

I think people should try to reason with her. Every convert proves the power of truth to change lives.
