A boat captain is not omnipotent. God created hell, according to the Bible, and He is the Judge. I will never choose to burn in hell. If I end up there, it will be because God, the judge, decided I should be there.

But God IS omnipotent and He created all that is. Nothing exists that He did not create, therefore, doesn't He have the right to make all the "rules"? Let me ask you this, do YOU think some people deserve an eternal punishment? Are there people that have done things so horrible that they need to be punished forever for it?

The only thing that people do that deserve eternal separation from God, is rejecting God and His way of salvation. They reject the very thing that can save them from an eternity apart from God.
