But the Mexican votes is as skewed as much as as the Irish vote used to be. Mexicans are not voting for Democrats because of their faith but because of their interests. Speaking of the Irish, many of them vote against the Church nowadays.
If the Irish are voting against the church, then that means they have started voting republican.
Catholic Hispanics are strong liberal democrat voters, but Protestant Hispanics are about a 50/50 vote split.
For instance as Catholics voted for W. by 52% in 2004 and Obama by 54% in 2008, Hispanic Protestants went 56% for W. in 2004, and 52% for Obama in 2008.
Hispanic Protestants are more republican than the Catholic voter.
