So if one votes third party in a swing state in protest to Romney, that would be detrimental to the conservative cause?

What "conservative cause?"

Are you really claiming there's now one left to actually rescue? We're long past a u-turn...from pre-empting a "conservative cause" already bent on a ship-wreck upon the rocks.

The economy is in such shambles, I don't think Obama can do well. But who knows? Romney is such a weak candidate; and are there enough liberal voters in this country -- 95% or more -- who would vote for 1 of 2 liberals?

"Conservative cause-wise..."...

If Romney wins, the GoP can forget about ever having a conservative as POTUS again...the GoP-E will just say, "See we need a moderate (read liberal) to win the independent/moderate vote."

If Romney loses, it will so dismay all the conservatives who were either hoodwinked into voting for him...many searing their conscience for good as they voted for a pro-abort for the first time, a huge-govt POTUS candidate for the first time, a liberal for the first time -- or, like myself -- who were driven from the GoP for good due to his nomination; so the Q then would be: Can the GoP even survive as a serious contender to the Dems? Will it become extinct like the Whigs?

You see, right now, the GoP has only 29% of all registered voters...If they lose 1/5th of their voters, that's down then to about 23% of all registered voters. It'll be the incredibly-dwindling shrinking party.

What “conservative cause?”

? The ones that would cause a freeper to vote for R, in swing states, like you said:

“If FREEPERS were true consistent conservatives, they would ONLY vie for Romney to win votes in states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and similar swing states.”

So causes like a superior chance of getting pro-life judges on the supreme court if perhaps only done for political reasons (like a second term or campaign contributions), better chance of reversing policies that pay for abortions internationally for the same reasons. I am assuming those are some of the reasons that pastor Jeffress would hold his nose for Romney. Why else do you think he would hold his nose?
