“When someone leaps to questioning your Christianity because you do not sign on to attacking the adherents of the ISM, THAT is abusing the Gospel of Grace, using the Salvation in Christ as a tool to try and squelch the person. And you know that else you would not be now trying to twist that into something else.”
Considering my reply to you did not insult you, but merely challenged you, and the first thing you did was denigrate me (”nOOb”) in response, and allege that you could not make sense of my simple question (acting as if I was stupid), maybe you need to take a step back and examine your own motivations.
And all of it is in your head. You’re the one accusing people of using “religion” as a political attack. You are telling everyone that people who oppose Mormonism, and realize that it is going to be a big issue throughout the election since Mitt Romney is the nominee, are doing so only for political purposes. In reality, you are the one reacting politically to things that you admit you already agree with anyway.
Exactly how does anyone on this forum benefit politically when, presumably, most are Republican or are Conservative? (There’s a difference.) What candidate do you think they are promoting? It’s not Obama. Do you think they believe they are going to get in some other candidate, maybe Sarah Palin, by making these threads? Of course not. So what is the motivation?
The motivation is the outrage that ungodly men are leading the nation, Mitt Romney included, and Mormonism is going to be apologized for (and already is) despite being the cult that it is.
Consider it education and an expression of that frustration, which I agree with and share completely.
You Mittbots started it, and so I will finish it. If you can read my mind, certainly I should be allowed to read yours!
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
