Even in the best of times, it’s a touchy subject for me...and now is definitely nowhere near ‘the best of times’.

I hear ya, Hon. Had you & Alice on my mind a lot of the day.
This morning I took a dog to the vet to check out a mass growing under the loose skin behind her armpit. She’s fairly young & I don’t have a lot of fears over the surgery scheduled two weeks hence, but she’s also too big to lose within the house in the meantime. :o)
When your buddy shows up it can be a 2-thawed mice celebration for sure!
I had a coworker who raised baby snakes for sale. IIRC, he raises non-exotics til they’re large enough to be sold to pet stores, plus the feeder mice for them.

I spent money I didn’t really have and called a pet finder psychic.
She was getting odd signals and referred me to the perfect guy who specializes in lost animals and people.
Alice is “in a piece of furniture”, “NOT hungry”, “not someplace warm” and most infuriating of all, “VERY, VERY HAPPY” with himself.

He’s also “not aware that I’m looking for him”.
[it’s good to know where I stand in his reptilian little universe] :(
He told me he would come out but not ‘any time soon’.
He couldn’t ‘call him out’ because unlike smart mammals, snakes have an IQ of -5.
Their existence is eat, sleep, poop.

I’d be skeptical if he hadn’t, out of the clear blue sky, asked me who “the brown haired man he saw near me” was.

He asked “what’s up with his business?”
[what?!? we’re talking snakes!]
I said it was tanking due to the economy and he said hubby was ‘being investigated by someone’ [Eeeeek!!! Alphabet agencies? No.] and before summer was over, that someone was going to show up and a lot of money would be involved and the psychic was “very happy about that.”.
What just happened to me?
I called about the snake!
Both psychics referred often to “God” and “prayers” so I don’t feel uncomfortable with that even though it’s something I don’t really “do”.
Any thoughts?

99.9 % chance it’s a harmless lipoma.
They’re self-limiting in size and that depends on where they pop up.
Under her armpit is the best place.
Izzy got hers there when she was 2 and it stayed the same size until she died.
Minny had one on her ribs which left it unlimited room to expand and it was half-a-tennis ball big at 13.
If you can take it between your fingers and roll it around, it’s a 100% bet.
The ones that pop up on muscle mass tend to be more tightly attached.
It’s just a blob of harmless fat.
Have your vet make SURE it’s not a lipoma before you resort to surgery.
If it is, and it’s cut out, others will almost certainly pop up later.
It’s got to do with cholesterol metabolism and tends to be hereditary.
A friend’s dog had so many he looked like a sack of doorknobs by the time he died of old age.

The couple of times my ball pythons escaped I found them 1)under the bottom shelf of a bookcase that had a piece on the front down to the floor so he had to enter between the wall and the bookcase and 2) under an end table that had a bottom shelf about 2inches off the floor.
I’m sure you’ve already looked in any place like that. It just seemed mine stayed low although their tank was on a stand at about waist high.
Still praying Alice will show up soon. I disagree with the pet psychic - snakes are fairly smart imo.
Nah, she aspirated, which made me nervous because it’s grown anyway since I first discovered it. Anyhow as I was saying, she aspirated that plus a smaller she found a few inches back on the ribs, and I waited while she put it under the scope right then.
The new small one is likely a cyst due to the skin, fat cells, dead cells & other detritus - I’m not too worried about that.
The big one is roughly the size & shape of a pingpong ball, and feels like cupping a single gonad. While she found no mast cells, the most malignant, she didn’t like the looks of it. She nodded in agreement when I said I want it OUT of her.
Got a kick outta your “sack of doorknobs” image, tho. I had a collie who grew a single large lipoma at what was normally the narrowest part of the waist, on her right side. Larges as a grapefruit & squishy.
...and when the *O* shaped box arrived from her son?
Tonight, I was telling my GD about Salamander's dilemma. GD asked if Alice bites...I told her no, not really...she jumped up, went to the book shelf, and brought out *Crictor*...we hadn't read it in a long, long time; so long ago, GD was in pre-school. Nice to see she can read it to me. Good memories. Delightful book.
There is often a sort of bond between people and their pets, that goes beyond mutual love and affection, that can be helpful or work at cross purposes in situations such as this. Consider thinking about what you want to happen, rather than fearing the worst and visualizing that.
One other thing you could try is to let your mind go blank if you can under the circumstances, just zone out while relaxed. The part of the house, yard, root cellar or what have you that springs to mind in that state just might be the spot you're seeking. This is a very basic way of doing the same thing those remote viewing “psychics” are doing. Much more miss than hit, even for a proven successful one, but there is also often useful information to be had as well.
Hard to believe, for some at least, but it's true to a limited extent.
That method allows you to process subconscious clues. Worth a try, for sure.

Lumps on dogs are rarely anything while lumps on cats usually are something.
Izzy had another lipoma that grew on the flap of skin in front of her hind leg.
It grew like crazy, having absolutely nothing to constrain it.
She looked weird but was healthy until Rimadyl given her for a back injury took her out...:(

He specifically meant that snakes were almost impossible to “call back” to where you want them, unlike a dog.
I an imagine Alice hearing the “Go home, snake! Go hooooome!” and saying “Naaaah” quite easily.

Oddly enough, he ~is~ a remote viewer who works with cops.
Normally, his ‘targets’ have already shuffled off their mortal coils.
This time, the coils were still breathing.
Given that I kept telling Hubby that Alice -seriously- wanted a condo like the Boas have [and was summarily denied one] he took matters into his own hands and went off to a bigger place like he wanted.
Perhaps that’s why I can’t ‘feel him’ like I always have.
He doesn’t *want* to be felt.
I was bluntly told that he is “very, very happy” on his walkabout.
