Today, April 15, 2012 is the 120th anniversary of the birth of Corrie ten Boom. It is also the 29th anniversary of her death. She wrote the book The Hiding Place, about her family's story. In WWII, they lived in Haarlem Holland. They hid Jews in a small room in their home. The Nazis came and arrested the ten Boom family and sent them to concentration camps. Corrie was the only one who survived. But the Jews that were hiding there survived and escaped. You can read more about Corrie at the link. Happy birthday Dear Lady!Better yet, buy a copy of The Hiding Place and read it! Happy birthday Dear Lady!

.
And that's how i'll always remember Howard Dean. Hopefully he stays in his padded room.
I read two books on her and saw a tv movie on her. What a family she came from in Holland. If you remember her Father was left to live in his house as long as he did not help Jews hiding again. He said No! He went to the camps after that incident. What a Family of Christ!! Amen!!
Then her witness of it all! Many came to Christ!!
Praise Jesus!
I great woman. Thanks for this post.
For anyone who happens to visit Haarlem, in the Netherlands, you can still see the house where the Ten Boom family lived.
Good book.
In an era when a jealous media strives to show the feet of clay that all humans have, even heros like her, I stand awed and humbled at her and her family’s courage. We must remember that the role of heros is to INSPIRE and that is what she and her compatriots did and do.
My greatest hope would be not to be found wanting in the time of similar need. Unfortunately, my greatest fear is that our own demagogues and charlatans can so easily lead us into equally evil times.
To the heros of past, present and future, I salute you!
Thank you all for your lovely posts! Corrie and her courageous family were all heroic indeed! Without reminders like this, their heroism would be lost to history!
Amen! Thanks for the Article! My Mother who passed loved the Hiding Place! You brought back some wonderful memories! Thanks again!

Spiritual gift of discernment.
The first time I heard Ozero speak I became chilled and physically nauseous. Many, many Freepers have said the same thing.
If you'd have fainted, he have gotten you a bottle of water.
Thanks for your post on Corrie Ten Boom;
I turned 78 last month (March 25) and my families have loved the testimony and life of Corrie, her sister Betsy, and her brother and dad.
We still have Corrie’s tracts, books and cassets in our home. “The Hiding Place” ranks as one the highest Christian testimonies in our life time.
Again, may God bless you for your article!
Thank you LetMarch. Corrie has a special place in our home too. This is my husband’s childhood home. When his parents were still alive, Corrie was a house guest here for about 4 months.
Then they bought another home nearby, where Corrie lived until she died.
I didn’t meet and marry my Hubby until after Corrie passed away. Years later, after the in-laws passed away, we bought the home from the estate.
There are still photos on the walls of Corrie, that my mother-in-law placed there over 30 years ago.
