(CNSNews.com) - Speaking to a group of Christian clergy at the Easter Prayer Breakfast he hosted at the White House on Wednesday, President Barack Obama referred to Jesus Christ as a son of God.
... And for me, and Im sure for some of you, its also a chance to remember the tremendous sacrifice that led up to that day, and all that Christ endured--not just as a Son of God, but as a human being.
The Christian faith teaches that Jesus is the only Son of God.

Good call. Another Muslim moment. And to think they are going to attack Romney on his Mormonism. Last time I checked, Mormons aren’t hijacking planes or blowing themselves up.
It’s like Obama is the best jihadist they’ve got.
And yet one more "non-difference" between Obama and Romney.
Please remind me again where they differ...
You gotta listen to the audio.
it ain’t right.
No Christian would say “A son of God”...
I’ve always thought it to be the other way around - that the sacrifice was much greater because Jesus was God’s son.
“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
Excellent point.
To Christians, Jesus Christ is THE son of God, His only begotten son, and Jesus of Nazareth, the human being crucified on Calvary was the very same.
Obama doesn’t quite get the concept of the Triune God, the Mormons believe in (at least) three gods and reject the Trinity.
Many similarities between Islam and Mormonism.
Actually, if Obama would claim to be a Hindu, there would be no problem. Hinduism's position is that God taking form in a human body is necessary for humans to reach God - and that because of that, God has taken that form many times throughout history. Not some different God each time, the same, one God.
In Christian terminology, it would like differentiating between Christ as the Son of God who Is God taking a human body named Jesus, and that exact same Christ doing it agin some other time, in another human body, named something else - but still the same Christ, the same Son of God.
Obviously traditional Christianity does not accept this interpretation. But that doesn't mean billions of people for thousands of years haven't accepted it, because they have.
Thing is, as far as I know, I can't recall Obama ever claiming to be a Hindu. : )
bingo!!! worth repeating
bingo!!! worth repeating
Obama wouldn’t know Christian theology if it bit him in the arse. But then again, not many muslims do.
No, we are not all sons and daughters of God.
Only believers can claim that. Unbelievers are not. So ALL of us are not, that is a blatant lie.
From the guy who thought there were 57 states...
“No, we are not all sons and daughters of God.”
Boy - you would make a lousy, so-called PC and inclusive president where Jesus and Mohammad and all of humankind are all one. And where God sheds a tear when ever a tree is cut down. (Hmmm - I wonder if Obama has invoked “his” Christianity yet on the Global Warming/ Environmental stuff yet. I know he has on the healthcare thing and taxes.
This is not my personal opinion, it is God’s own words expressed in His book. They will have to take up their beef with Him, not me.
What a difference an “a” makes!
Obama: Jesus is a Son of God.
Jesus: Obama is a Son of a B......

“This is not my personal opinion, it is Gods own words expressed in His book.”
We were just talking about that with some friends about how stating what is the Truth is not always pleasant or what people want to hear - but hey - it is what it is. (For me, I know I don’t want to hear it sometimes, and try to find some wiggle room where there is none).
