If we end up stuck with Romney, 2012 will not be a year we will have any best interest to gain.
However we can stop the catastrophic damage currently being done.
Then, we can start working RIGHT NOW to replace Romney (who will be in approximately the same shape George W Bush was at this time 4 years ago) with a real candidate in 2016.
We really don’t have any better option, than to contain the damage at this point, if Romney ends up the candidate.
But Obama really needs to be un-elected. Or we may not have a chance left by 2016, to fix anything at all.
Don’t worry. Romney will not have a pet media like Obama has. He’ll be beatable in 2016. Big time.
“We really dont have any better option, than to contain the damage at this point, if Romney ends up the candidate.”
I disagree. Romney will do irreparable damage to the Republican name - I won’t help him do so. Also, it is very hard for a party to unseat its own incubant candidate. That dog won’t hunt.
It is more logical to fight him now hard before the convention and afterwards. He will lose in a general election anyway. By taking a strong stand now, the “I told you so” position becomes tenable. The GOP has got to stop nominating losers and the unacceptable.
