Mary sealed to Heavenly Father by LDS proxy temple rites The Mormon Baptism of Mary, Mother of God

By Helen Radkey

Hail Holy Queen

Mary (the mother of Jesus) was a Jewish woman of Nazareth in Galilee, identified in the New Testament as the wife of Joseph and the mother of Jesus of Nazareth. Christians believe Mary conceived Jesus miraculously by the agency of the Holy Spirit. For twenty centuries, Christians have cherished Mary and given her titles that reflect their love and admiration—such as the Blessed Virgin Mary, Theotokos (Mother of God), Our Lady, and Queen of Heaven. As the most celebrated woman in Christendom, Mary is considered the epitome of virtue by Christians, especially Catholics and Orthodox. Protestants generally perceive Mary as an outstanding example of a life dedicated to God. Over two thousand years after she gave birth to Jesus Christ—who is recognized by Christians and Mormons as the Redeemer of mankind—Mary of Nazareth was offered “eternal salvation” through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS.)

Mary, a Mormon by proxy

“Mary Mother of Jesus,” the spouse of “Joseph „of the House of David‟…” was baptized and confirmed a member of the LDS Church by proxy on December 9, 2009 in the Idaho Falls Idaho (LDS) Temple. She was subjected to initiatory temple ordinances on December 16, 2009; an endowment ceremony on December 26, 2009; and a sealing to parents on January 7, 2010—all rites occurred in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple.

Are we not called to love one another?

“You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. - Matthew 5:43-48

Yuk, yuk, yuk!

Don’t these ex mormons realize that when the catholics say ‘mary’ they mean Ishtar?

What does YHWH want with NMRD’s ‘wife?’

Where’s the blasphemy?

Do you mean the catholic’s worship of Ishtar in the psuedonym of ‘mary?’

Or is there some other blasphemy?

>> “Mary is no ordinary human.” <<

.
Mary was a very ordinary human until Gabriel informed her that she was to carry the son of God into the world. She sleeps now, awaiting the “first resurrection.”

.
>> “she is nevertheless the Mother of God in that it is from her flesh that God took His humanity” <<

.
That is a nonsensical convoluted statement. God has no mother. Jesus stated that his mother and brothers were all the people that believed on him.

God chose his elect at the foundation of the world; no one can take even one of them away. Christ’s shed blood is sufficient for all, and effective for only the elect.

If the response of Mormon Romney apologists is attack Mary, then the GOP may want to rethink its strategy this November which is highly dependent upon Catholics voting Republican in the same proportion that they did for Dubya.

Little difference. They’re both forms of Babylonian freemasonry.

So you believe the fact God took His flesh from the Virgin Mary to be a “nonsensical and convoluted”? So where did He get His flesh from then? Or do you believe that Jesus was not fully human?

The GOP elite would be pleased as punch to have Obama remain in office.

That’s a fact.

I believe that Christ could have been born from any woman of the House of David with the same result.

Mary was ‘special’ only in her correct lineage fulfilling prophecy. Mary was not sinless; she was very human, and had at least seven children, as witnessed by God’s word. (Catholic ‘tradition’ be returned to the pit of hell from which it arose)

So if I understand you correctly, you see nothing special in the fact Mary bore a son in common with God?

I don’t think even you have any idea what you meant by that question.

Try me. I was raised evangelical, and once held the same viewpoint you express toward Catholic/Orthodox theology of Mary. That being said, if you need time to pray and reflect upon the question, we can postpone the discussion.

I have no idea what you mean by that question.

Christ stated that the Father could raise up sons of Abraham from the stones on the ground.

The Mary worshipers never have any knowledge of the Bible; if they did, they wouldn’t be Mary worshipers.

I’ve never met a Mary worshiper. Only Christians who honor her because of the special role she played in salvation history as the mother of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. a title firmly established in Luke 1: 41-43, where Elizabeth addresses Mary as “mother of my Lord”.

That being said, I will repeat the question in simpler terms: Is the fact Mary bore a son in common with God special?

>> where Elizabeth addresses Mary as “mother of my Lord”. <<

.
Stretching the meaning of Elizabeth’s words is disobedience to God.

Mary bore a son by the will of God, not “in common with him.” Your statement is gastly blasphemy at best. Jesus knew that this blasphemy would arise, so he handled it:

>> Luk 11:27
¶ And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed [is] the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

Luk 11:28
But he said, Yea rather, blessed [are] they that hear the word of God, and keep it. <<

You can accept his words, or you can reject them. He made many similar comments whenever anyone attempted to lift up Mary. I’ll accept the words of my Lord and savior.
.

You seem troubled by the idea Mary bore a son in common with God, which is the plain meaning of the Angel Gabriel’s words to Mary in Luke 1:31.

If she did not bear this son in common with God, who then was the father? And from whom did Christ receive His divinity?

And if God did not bear this son in common with Mary, who then was the mother? And from whom did Christ receive His humanity?

I suppose one could take the Darwinist approach and claim Jesus was merely an accident of evolution. However, the idea that man can evolve into God is a position more in keeping with Mormonism than classical Christianity.

Some have hard time with this.
