Egypt's Coptic Christian Pope Shenouda III has died at the age of 88, state television has announced.
The leader of the Middle East's largest Christian minority was reported to suffer from cancer that had spread to several organs.
Coptic Christians make up 10% of Egypt's population of 80 million.
After attacks on Coptic Christians in recent years, Pope Shenouda urged officials to do more to address the community's concerns.
Pope Shenouda led the church, one of the oldest Christian communities in the world, for four decades.
His political adviser Hany Aziz told Reuters news agency that Shenouda "died from complications in health and from old age".
He had returned recently to Egypt after seeking treatment abroad.
Pope Shenouda was born Nazeer Gayed into a devout Christian family on 3 August 1923 in Asyut, Upper Egypt, and became a monk in 1954, taking the name Shenouda.
After Pope Cyril died in 1971, Shenouda was enthroned as Pope of Alexandria.

While Middle Eastern chr*stians do indeed live a precarious existence, it's hard for me to feel sorry for them. They always blame Israel and never blame the moslems (except perhaps for the chr*stians of southern Lebanon under Sa'ad Haddad). How many American chr*stians are aware that chr*stian Lebanon was one of the countries that invaded Israel in '48 to destroy it at birth?
Stupid secular Zionists think Middle Eastern chr*stians are a combination of Thomas Jefferson and John Hagee, while American Fundamentalist Protestants think they're the "original Jewish Southern Baptists." They are not. Unlike the "restored" religion of American Fundamentalist Protestants, authentic ancient historical chr*stianity really does have a deep and abiding hatred of Judaism (and Jews).
This isn't what people want to hear, but it's true.

If the Torah does not allow for chr*stianity, then chr*stianity is illicit. Either that or you have to disown the Torah altogether.
Hmm. How do you know this "Barabas" ever existed? Maybe he's ancient Babylonian or Canaanite mythology. Have you consulted your local scientist to get his permission to believe such a person actually lived?

Jesus was predicted over 450 times in the Old Testament. It would seem to me that those who reject Him are the ones rejecting the the Torah.
The ones who ACCEPT him are the ones who are rejecting the Torah.
