Did you grow up in Utah?
I grew up in a smaller city southeast of Phoenix. Sadly, years later I’ve heard of so much abuse that many of my friends endured because of the secret society the LDS church is. Physical(and sexual)abuse was common but was never officially reported. Even if it was our town’s PD were all mormon, mayor, city council, and school board were all mormon so they took care of matters between themselves.
Things have changed with the growth that the Phoenix area has had. My town isn’t “totally” controlled by the mormocks any longer. However, they have a very strong influence and my guess is that they still protect their own - even if criminal activity has taken place. Sad.
Just my luck, they are building a temple (aka. lets worship the dead center) a mile away from my store. NEATO!!!
