SALT LAKE CITY -- An LDS-oriented group is calling on GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum to disavow a pastor who made anti-Mormon comments earlier this week.
In a news release, MormonVoices, which is associated with the Foundation for Apologetic Information and Research, called for Santorum to "condemn the anti-Mormon comments made by his supporter, an honorary Florida chairman, the Rev. O'Neal Dozier" of the Worldwide Christian Center.
On Monday Dozier said "the Mormon religion is prejudiced against blacks, Jews and native Americans." He called Mormonism a "racist" religion and called on Romney to renounce it.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints did not issue a response to Dozier but earlier has said "people of all races have always been welcomed and baptized into the church since its beginning" and "the church unequivocally condemns racism, including any and all past racism by individuals both inside and outside the church."
Scott Gordon, managing director of MormonVoices, not associated with the church, said, "Dozier's comments represent a form of religious bigotry that should not be tolerated by any serious candidate for the Presidency of the United States. His comments are either ignorant or are willful misrepresentations for personal or political purposes."
Yeah! There would be some commentary.
Well for heaven’s sake if it’s bothering you so much, cry to the mods.
Its no that, its that a Temple Marriage (and kids) would have made it harder to leave.
This is something I also know a wee bit about.
Keep it up!
Yeah, I could see that. Gee, it’s almost like they.....naw....

Thanks, brother!
Yes, I was offended yesterday when it was posted and someone sent me an email calling it to my attention.
This is an unnecessary waste of bandwidth.
Worth posting 3 times, lol.
You are an insider and I am a mere academic.
But a cult is still a cult!
Your bravery will save many, many lives...my voice will simply point to you.
That is enough for me!
A) Why were you offended? What in this offends you?
and
B) So, a thread should be pulled just because you are offended? Ohhh puhhleeezzze!
Maybe you should avoid the threads with titles that are offensive to you. Just a suggestion.
I agree that Romney is more than a victim...but he is also a vic!
A very old Vic!
It is Christ who deserves all the glory - for any perceived bravery, for Saving me out of that cult, for every breath I take. I just pray that He uses me to reach others and if not me then some other believer. It is all God.
I used to lament my time in Mormonism, but now I see God used my pride and stubbornness when I was still an unbeliever and used my time in Mormonism to prepare me to minister to others. I am constantly in awe of His Grace.
God bless you, brother.
I have spent time in sin...and look forward to spending my eternity with the likes of you!!!
No, I am just svcw.
Thx for the correction!
I grew up in a smaller city southeast of Phoenix. Sadly, years later I’ve heard of so much abuse that many of my friends endured because of the secret society the LDS church is. Physical(and sexual)abuse was common but was never officially reported. Even if it was our town’s PD were all mormon, mayor, city council, and school board were all mormon so they took care of matters between themselves.
Things have changed with the growth that the Phoenix area has had. My town isnt totally controlled by the mormocks any longer. However, they have a very strong influence and my guess is that they still protect their own - even if criminal activity has taken place. Sad.
Just my luck, they are building a temple (aka. lets worship the dead center) a mile away from my store. NEATO!!!
The world is listening and watching!
Keep it up and stay in touch!
