God is a GOOD God. Blaming God will short circuit your faith immediately as will fear and unbelief.

AMEN!!! AMEN!!!

He overcame because of the Words he spoke, and because he is the Word made flesh.

AMEN!! Words have power - Speak The Word...

just on this thread there have been multiple posts that are convinced that God does not heal and declare anyone that claims that He does is a heretic! That is not an environment that builds faith because faith comes from hearing God's Word.

WELL SAID!!

EXCELLENT POST!! And it sounds like we have the same TEACHER!!

This will most likely be my last post on this thread.

Yep. I know what you mean.

THANK YOU!

Why do you continue to misrepresent what we have said on this thread and every other similar thread? We have NEVER said that "God does not heal". That is a lie. We have said there are no "DIVINE HEALERS" today. That God is bound to the words of a healER to do as he commands. Are you just not understanding the difference, or are you purposely changing the truth into a lie?

assuring everybody that he is entirely Biblical

As I've documented in some detail, that is a THOROUGHLY INACCURATE ASSERTION.

Which demonstrates again how silly it is for me to try and respond rationally to a list of folks on the thread, when my words are soooooo off the wall misrepresented.

Do not accuse another Freeper of telling a lie, it attributes motive, the intent to decieve. It is "making it personal."

Words such as "false" "wrong" "error" do not attribute motive.

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

I say that are so common on FR, THOSE JUST DON’T OCCUR in my classroom. And THAT is really fascinating.

Your classroom doesn't have the critical spirit in it like here which brings on confusion. Seems post after post is making this thread about you, making it personal. Interesting but not really.

Back to your cousin, let me know if she gets a book together. I'm sure Copeland with be featured in it as God used him.

God is good ALL THE TIME!!

Agreed! There's a big thing going on around here about the Cerullo family. They run a "non-profit" religious broadcasting empire called "Inspiration Networks". The CEO, David Cerullo makes $2.5 MILLION a year. From http://philanthropy.com/blogs/philanthropytoday/head-of-nonprofit-christian-cable-network-is-paid-2-5-million/45455:

Under CEO David Cerullo, the network has become one of the world’s biggest Christian broadcasters, with a budget of $95 million and programming that reaches 120 countries and often tells viewers God will bring financial favor to those to make donations.

Televangelists tell viewers to expect miracles if they send money.

The group’s newly released 2010 Internal Revenue Service filing lists an additional 25 employees earning more than $150,000, among them Cerullo’s wife, son, daughter.

Inspiration said it follows established guidelines for nonprofit wages and that Mr. Cerullo’s pay is determined largely by an independent committee that makes recommendations to the broadcaster’s board based on studies of similar entities, such as cable networks, media companies, and national ministries.

A 2009 Charlotte Observer investigation found that Cerullo was the best paid leader of any religious charity tracked by watchdog groups.

Rusty Leonard, CEO of Ministry Watch, says the new figures suggest that hasn't changed. "There's no doubt (Cerullo's) compensation is out of bounds," said Leonard, whose group profiles Christian organizations to help prospective donors.

As revenue and salaries at the nonprofit have risen, Inspiration has also won its quest for a major tax break on its campus in Lancaster County.

In 2010, following an appeal by the broadcaster, the S.C. Department of Revenue agreed to declare all but 2 percent of the property tax-exempt. That reversed a 2009 decision in which the state denied Inspiration's bid for tax exemption.

The department's latest ruling delivered another blow to economically struggling Lancaster County, costing the county more than $500,000 in annual property tax revenue. From 2008 to 2010, the network's revenue rose by 30 percent. But Cerullo's total compensation grew at an even faster pace, IRS returns show. I think that these types of "minsters" will have much to answer to God for - not only their fleecing of the flock but their false and accursed Gospel.

That reminds me of my brother when we were growing up. That shadow part in the pix, he did it often. He, being the clown in family, we were always laughing together. Thank God my family laughed a lot, God put me in the right family!!

Also, I think we would see a tremendous growth in our faith if we were more like Job who said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.”

There are extremes on both sides, and Copeland and company are one side.

Requiring that speaking in tongues is necessary to be saved is as wrong as dogmatically holding that any who do speak in tongues are not saved.

As regards the latter, the characteristics which Paul taught would accompany the coming of that which is perfect (1Cor. 13:10-13) are not now yet fully realized, as despite a having wholly inspired revelation we still do not see face to face, but when the perfect revelation of Christ comes, then we shall know even as we are known.

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. “ (1 John 3:2)

But gifts are gifts = chrisms- and chrisms do not equal character, which is the more primary issue, and like any tool, character determines whether it will used or abused, the latter being predominate with tongues me thinks, besides other buses of so many so-called “faith teachers.”

“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. “ (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Have a God night.

I agree that these charlatans will have a lot to answer for- for their fleecing of the flock and their false and accursed Gospel.

And so will the flock. For NOT studying the Scriptures daily, "to see if those things were so" and following the words of haughty men instead of God's Word of truth. Ignorance will be no excuse in that day. And God help the man or woman who was warned by believers with all longsuffering and doctrine, praying them in Christ's stead to search the Scriptures for the truth. Once they've heard, they can never claim they didn't know. It is, at that point, willfull disobedience to God and His admonition to us to study His word in order to be approved workmen for Him, who will not be ashamed when they stand before Him.

I haven't checked his site. Wondering, did you and that's where you got that statement from or did someone else say it/spin it that way.

You teach your students about the Charismatic faith? You discuss with them about speaking in tongues and people who have the gift of supernatural healing? And, for some reason, your students don't have such problems with what you say? Perhaps my question was not specific enough. I would HOPE that you don't mock or belittle students who may disagree with you on this, or any subject, really. As a former teacher, I know that is the quickest way to turn off the ability to learn and it also diminishes the respect for the teacher, closing off - sometimes for good - future attempts to get through.

That's what I think is happening on these threads and I, personally, would like to see it stop and let it be a place where we can discuss ANY issue without resorting to insults. As we can see, that definitely doesn't make an edifying place to be. At the end of it all, we SHOULD be able to all stay FRiends and accept our differences - especially on what we have admitted are nonessential salvation doctrines. Burned bridges can sometimes never be rebuilt. Though, with God, all things are possible.

The posts that are chosen to be answered and the posts that are chosen to be...not confronted...

and won't be....as is the habit for those who cannot defy the truth when it's spoken. They can however get snarky, avoid, mis-direct, blame, mope and claim victimhood and a host of other tactics to not face what's before them. .......'truth' stands in their way...and that is not something which they are seeking.
