All those Bible dudes were certainly inspired by their beliefs. But I do not believe their beliefs represent the literal word of God. So you’ll understand how amused I am by those who claim to know what is in His heart. When the quartet of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John quote Jesus, they are lying? Is this for your amusement or ours?

My belief is that they were writing stories, loosely based on facts, rich in metaphor, written in a style of the times. You are welcome to believe otherwise, of course.
