They shouldn't be. If they are, it's a matter of upbringing not Scriptural teaching.

Maryland was a slave state until it abolished slavery during the Civil War.

The north, primarily Protestant, never endorsed slavery. Not all in the south did either.

They are knee deep in it. What do you think the nuns were? They never got a dime, had to give up everything and when they came out after all those years of 'serving', they couldn't even count those years - no social security was ever paid for them. And NO affirmative action!

I know one had to even 'beg' the mother superior to get a loan for a second hand car to get a job when she came out. They were left penniless after all those years of teaching, cooking, etc. like slaves. They had to rely on any family they had left to help them because 'the church' wasn't there for them! Love your neighbors - HA! Not on the RCC's dime! Liberalism - 'do as I say and not as I do'
