I was thinking about the comment about James being for “all Christians”. If Catholics believe that it indeed does address them and use portions of James literally why don’t they take the following verse literally?
Another question about what Catholics believe from a poster who claims that Catholics are idolaters, that those who celebrate Easter and Christmas are pagans and that claims that the idea of church on Sunday is a man made tradition and apparently not either Christian or Biblical. Anyone care to try (again) to edumcate the self named "CynicalBear"?

Why don’t you counter with proof from scripture where Jesus or the apostles instituted the celebration of Christmas, Easter or any other holiday? Wouldn’t that be more affective? You know like this.

Exodus 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. 17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

So much for seventh day observance by Gentiles.

Now if you think it’s some kind of law or rule to observe Sunday or any Sabbath day you may want to consider this.

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Call Saturday or Sunday or any other day the Sabbath and that it must be observed if you want but don’t count on grace if you do.

Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

So much for the RCC “requirements. Now, how about showing where Jesus or the Apostles instituted Christmas or Easter as a celebration. If you can’t you must admit that they are rooted in something else. Surely you can show from scripture what you believe and practice right?
