The “ignorant sects”, as you call them, are like the Communist Parties. Can they ever admit to having been wrong? They have painted themselves into corners (and are in the process of doing, as new Protestant sects are born to collect cash from the naive), from which there are no escapes. Their attacks against Rome are no different from the myths about alien invasions, Roswell and so on. Self sustaining, immune to facts, logic, reason. Mock ‘em, as Saul Alinsky would!

It seems to me that when the number of Protestant fragments stabilizes for a while the anti-Catholic lies subside a good bit. When another wave of breaking whatever large slivers of glass still exist into ever smaller pieces starts, the anti-Catholic hokum picks up again. Of course such ignorant sects can't ever admit they've been wrong about anything. The only way to distract attention from their own divisions is always to attack any and all other churches not fragmenting and the moment. The Catholic Church which has remained true to what Christ taught ever since Christ entrusted His Church to His Apostles, is always at the top of the list of targets since it has existed ever since Christ. So, all the little groups that worship The Most High Self try and use smoke and mirrors to distort what the Church really is and what it teaches in hopes of hiding the obvious, which is that the Holy Spirit has protected and continues to protect the Catholic Church.

The gates of Hell will not prevail against the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. It's that simple and that obvious to anyone not blinded by worshiping "The Most High Self". Only those blinded by a reprobate mind can root around in their wallows after obscure prophecies and excuses to rewrite Scripture while ignoring something so obvious as the Holy Spirit protecting His Church.
