Frankly, I want to know why every time an article like this appears they act as if Martin Luther is the founder and defender of the Protestant faith.
>>Luther’s ideas set the precedent for all of his successors who went far beyond him.
No doubt. There are many good Protestants, and I know a lot of them personally. But Protestantism’s ideas are responsible for the state of faith in the West today.
And I’m not letting the Scholastics off the hook either.
And those Protestants may very well have the same standing before God that you do. Quite frankly, laying the ills at the feet of Protestantism is wrong. The world does not have a doctrine problem, it has a sin problem. Man exalts and esteems himself higher than God. It’s like I tell people, I highly doubt that when you stand before the Lord that he will say “ I appreciate that you loved my Son and followed his commandments, but unfortunately you didn’t believe in (fill in the blanks - infant baptism, tradition, sola scriptura, etc.). Always remember when asked what the greatest commandment was - Love the Lord God with all your heart and mind. And next to that, love your neighbor as your self. Paul said in I Corinthians 2:2 - I am determined to know nothing among you but Jesus Christ and him crucified. I sense that you are a zealous believer. Direct that to these and you will be truly pleasing to God.
