All this denial about working for your bread in the scriptures is misleading.
Charity is about love and if you love another you help them to wax strong again so they will be fit for the Kingdom.
Those who are sick you bring them aid and comfort.
Ecc 1
18 ¶By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

It makes me wonder what happen to the Relief Society and the priesthood which he also over sees.
It is the bishop who calls these people to leadership postiion.
I don’t what happen but it is not a typical ward behavior and I am really disappointed to hear this.
It isn’t just this ward in particle with my lds uncle and aunt. My cousin the only one who did not leave lds moved to Utah with her husband, they were both temple workers. I mean the highest of the high inside the temple, she never got help when she was suffering - nothing, nada. And it ended in the worse tragedy.
lds is not what it appears to be.
I’m not Mormon and have plenty of concerns about the faith. However most of the mormons I’ve met are decent people. I’d love to convert mormons to Christianity but do not think hateful speech is the way to do that.
I'm confused..."callings" in the mormon church are supposedly direct revelation from the mormon god that these are the people he wants in those positions.
The bishop "calls" these people to these positions based on "revelations" he receives through prayer.
Are you saying that the mormon god told the bishop to "call" the wrong people to these positions?
Hmmm, is the bishop "uninspired"? Did the mormon god get it wrong?
I'll say they do. I've seen it way too many times while a member and currently in my family's ward. Apathetic and ambivalent leaders within the church abound. Scouts YW, YM, primary, etc., etc.
I recall the interviews for my "callings" pretty vividly...
"God has revealed to me that this is your "calling" in the church. It doesn't matter if this "calling" is going to interfere with your personal life, work or your marriage. This is god's will. If you reject it, you are turning your back on god, choose wisely."
