You call scripture a "straw man? Did you read it? Are not the highlighted words there? Do they not mean what I said they meant?

I understand that spiritual things are spiritually discerned ...but reading for content can even be done by anyone

What does brethren mean? Who are the brethren of Christ?

What does INHERIT mean? Did I misstate the meaning?

I gave you a clear reading of the text..every word that proceeds from the mouth of God needs to be read.. I supplied supporting texts..

You can "dismiss it if you are unable to respond to it.. BUT the word of God is never a straw-man

I called your mischaracterization of Catholic teaching a straw-man.

Brethren = all of Christ’s followers.

Read the Joint Catholic-Lutheran Declaration on Justification because it shows that Catholics and Protestants aren’t as far as one would think when it comes to the role of works in our journey.

It is better to listen and understand than to wag one’s finger in judgement.

But the words of men are. You present a strong case.

The clear readings you present are rather muddy upon closer examination. They appear to be similar to English translated to Chinese translated to Hindi translated back to English.

The Greek lexicon is of use in putting Protestant protestations into proper view.
