>>but it is only your opinion that Ecclesiasticus is in error<<

No it’s not “only” my opinion. Catholics as well as Protestants agree that there are errors in the apocryphal books.

Let’s look at some of the things which show the apocrypha not to be scripture.

God is unaware the origin of some is evil. Wisdom 12:10
Deceive people for God. (Judith)
Divorce if your wife does not obey you-Sirach 25:26
Better is the wickedness of a man than a woman who does good; and it is a woman who brings shame and disgrace." Sirach 42:14
What is life to a man who is without wine? It has been created to make men glad." Sirach 31:27
"Pamper a child, and he will frighten you; play with him, and he will give you grief." Sirach 30:9
There are also numerous historical errors in the apocrypha to numerous to list here. God is not the author of error.

If you want to think it is my “opinion” that those are errors and prove them not to be scripture that’s up to you. I’ll continue to believe they are not God’s word.

Gee if I google errors in apocrypha I have to go 7 pages into the results to find a Catholic site speaking of such errors.

That means there were 6 pages of protestant claims that they are not Scriptural.

Now, somewhere out there may be Catholics who agree with the protestant position, but that is not the official teaching and canon of Scripture from the Church.

Next, I googles errors in the Bible and LOW AND BEHOLD, if found pages and pages of lists of errors and contradictions throughout the Bible.

Yep, atheists love to point them all out. And, what is their conclusion? That the argument that the Bible is the inerrant and inspired word of God is circular, i. e. that the Bible is God’s word and God is not the author of error, therefore the Bible has no errors.

Sound familiar?

Then I googled errors in the New Testament and what did I find? If you guessed that there were also numerous sites expounding on all the geographical and historical errors and contradiction in the New Testament, you win a cookie!

So, yes, CB, it is your opinion that the books removed by modern day protestants do not belong in Scripture.

How about answering the questions I put to you?

Did Jesus contradict the OT when He stopped the men from stoning the adulteress?

Did Jesus contradict the OT when He said that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath?
