So, in addition to being piggies and dogs, we are now fascists and leftists. Too bad all you have is names and labels but nothing of substance to fortify your assertions. I notice that you have YET to comment about why Peter quite clearly speaks of the "priesthood of all believers", why is that? I would not even be arguing this point with you had Peter not by divine inspiration said exactly that. So, who now is "replying based on preconceptions, pretending others say things they didn't, and so on"?

Now, I realize that you probably have quite a bit riding on your assurance of Scripture commanding you to blindly obey all that comes down to you from your "authority", but my authority - and it SHOULD be every Christians' - is the Holy Scriptures. Because what the Apostles did after they assured those who continued the ministry of reconciliation of Jesus Christ were well established in the orthodox teachings, enscripturated (wrote down) all that the Holy Spirit brought to their remembrance - JUST as Jesus told them he would. Therefore, whatever any person teaches to their congregation should be grounded in the teachings of the Bible.

This is hardly a new idea. In fact, nearly every one of those called Early Church Fathers stated that nothing they teach should be heard if it was not verified by Scripture. My faith is based upon the teachings of the Bible and I would hope anyone who sincerely is seeking to know the truth will come to God, believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. His Holy Word is our divinely-inspired, infallible source for truth. Any leader of God's people MUST have Scripture as their authority and God would never expect his children to follow anyone who did not teach his truth. He has also given us the indwelling Holy Spirit who would lead us into all truth. So we have God's word, the Holy Spirit and, hopefully, leaders who have both as well as the gift of teaching and preaching so that they can train up God's people in the truth. I hope this is your true desire - to KNOW Christ.

I'm beginning to think some folks around here really do have a reading comprehension problem along with their deliberate misstatement inclinations. I'm not sure whether the anti-Catholic crew are leftists and fascists, but it's painfully obvious they employ identical tactics, tactics that were used to promote the ultimate and most fundamental tenant of all Protestant and Protestant derived belief which is, "to thine own self be true", to the entire society, a society which is the most Protestant society in history, a society that increasingly reflects exactly the sort of Self worship so obvious among the anti-Catholic attack dogs.

I am sure about the attack dog and Scriptural definition of those who have no life in them. Attack dogs is a commonly understood term in common use and anyone who reads the post to which you refer sees that the definition fits because of the fact that this entire long series of comments started from only the most slender of excuses to begin attacking the Catholic Church. Scripture speaks for itself:

Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy to dogs; neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turning upon you, they tear you.

Those who do not participate in the Eucharist have no life in them. Some of them are seeking Christ and surrender to the Holy Spirit who will guide them to Christ and in increasing numbers, to The One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church that was founded by Christ Himself and the organization of which was established by the Apostles in keeping with the authority Christ delegated to them. As more of those who were born into the Catholic faith and have fallen away to become Protestant, more and more of those earnestly seeking Christ are realizing that The One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church is the One True Church. As the seed that fell on stone leaves His Church, the new growth of Christian faithful come to His Church. RCIA programs are all much, much, larger now than just a few years ago and they are full of former Fundamentalists, Baptists, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and all to other denominations and non denominations that have gown out of the revolt against His Church. Christ is gathering His Own into His Church and abandoning those without faith, who refuse to take up their cross and follow Him, to fall by the wayside. He is, as the Bible teaches, turning them over to a reprobate mind, to become enamored of the most Protestant and Protestant derived society in history, the society that has adopted the basic idea behind the revolt against Christ, that idea being, "to thine own self be true".

Those who never surrender and refuse to take up their cross and follow Christ, though, just keep generating their own personal religion of Self and therefore have no life in them. Such people are described as swine. Sorry, that's the Word of God. I know how much clear and simple Scriptures offend some folks, but that's the way it is. That's why it's a waste to throw the pearls of Scripture before them, they get irritated, angry, and in doing so dig themselves deeper into heresy rather than opening up more to the Holy Spirit that would guide them to the Truth if they would stop making up their own religion of Self to follow.

Everything after the "YET" is more than likely, hokum, baloney, one persons personal interpretation or a twisting of something to suit their own love of them-self and keep from bending their knee to Christ.
