If you read Hosea you will see that the northern kingdom became not a people , so in effect they were divorced from him . The southern kingdom repented and came back from captivity 70 years later . If you read the whole story of Hosea and Gomer you will know that they are beloved to him and why he provided a ransom to buy them back .

Very good. I agree with your assessment. However, nothing in this passage says that God considers Israel to be His bride.
