Jesus warned us of of repetition in prayer....most Christians don’t need a canned prayer to talk with Christ or pray to Him....nor a parade of leadership to get them into the mood for worshipping him in order to partake of communion.

As for your church saying Mary is equal or above Christ..I will NOT apologize...here’s just one book of your Bishops quotes:

“All power is given to thee in Heaven and on earth, so that at the command of Mary all obey even God . . . and thus . . . God has placed the whole Church . . . under the dominion of Mary” (pp. 180-181).

“The way of salvation is open to none otherwise than through Mary, and since our salvation is in the hands of Mary . . . he who is protected by Mary will be saved, he who is not will be lost” (pp. 169-170).

“Mary is called...the gate of heaven because no one can enter that blessed kingdom without passing through her (p. 160).

“Mary is our life . . . Mary in obtaining this grace for sinners by her intercession, thus restores them to life” (p.80).

“And she is truly a mediatress of peace between sinners and God. Sinners receive pardon by . . . Mary alone”.... (pp. 82-83).

(’The Glories of Mary,’.... was written by a Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church....St. Alphonsus de Liguori, He was made a Saint by the Roman Catholic Church.)

That would be classified blasphemy and heretical and an abomination to God just as it was in Jeremiah.

Apology indeed. When the CC specifically states that they have replaced Christ with Mary no apology is needed for speaking the truth.

Have you actually read this?

I notice that many of the posted quotes leave out things between the beginning of the quote and the end. In other words, they all have a “....” which indicates things in between the beginning of the quote and the end are left out.

When I google just the quotes what comes up? Why, a list of anti Catholic sites that take just these quotes, presented exactly as they are here and then goes on to denounce Catholicism using these REDACTED quotes as proof that Catholics worship Mary and “replace” God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit with her.

It is deceptive practice of these sites and no-nothings who gobble up the deception and repeat them are counting on gullible people who will never read the entire work to nod in agreement that indeed, Catholics worship Mary.

St. Ligouri was a devout Christian Catholic who had a special love and devotion to Mary. The work in question, “The Glories of Mary” was a defense against the same type of attacks on Marialogy that we see on these forums.

I do not have the book, and it will take some time for me to find the COMPLETE quotes but suffice it to say for now, that what was cut and pasted here was meant to inflame and not educate or edify.

Alponsus accepted Catholic doctrine that Jesus Christ is the UNCREATED SON OF GOD WHO BECAME MAN TO RECONCILE SINNERS TO THE FATHER.

Mary is a created being, who owes everything she is to the grace of God.

How about doing us a favour and posting entire passages so we can see them in context? We are very familiar with Protestant proof texting of Scripture and taking snippets out of context. I have had many annoyed posts to me because I have a tendency to post entire passages more than just a partial verse.
