at least Catholics know the creeds and what the words refer to.

the question is...do you know Christ? not just about Him but on a up close and personal level. Beause if you have that why dilly dally before idols and conform to rituals He never established for us?

.... And furter has He given you 'assurance' of the salvation He's given you ...that you will surely be with Him when the time comes to go home with Him. Because He said we can KNOW that with certainty.

what matters is whether you are “in Christ” or not.

in Christ = salvation
outside of Christ = no salvation

bonus question for caww -

must i accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior or is just believing Jesus Christ is the Son of God enough to be saved?

For those paying attention, that is what my posts have been all about. The Christian Faith of who Christ truly is. This is how we can teach about the Faith. It is one way, the other is praxis, which is a whole 'nuther subject. We can discuss this in theological terms to confirm whether or not our basic beliefs are the same or not. This is the primary way Christianity has been preserved long enough for new folks to have the same Faith as the Apostles and their successors.

on a up close and personal level.

You know I can have no possible idea of what images, concepts or notions are in your head except as you are able to describe them. However, in this discussion I think is not only off topic but more than a tad presumptuous.

If I went for the interpretation that gave me the most assurance, I'd pick Universal Unitarianism; but then I wouldn't feel as special, so maybe yours is better.

I should tell you that when I hear OSAS expressed as you do, I think: "Oh look, he has God in a box in his pocket."

Personally, I think looking at Love in terms of what's in it for me is really a bad idea. As others have said: It's like marrying for money. I try really hard to not even go there. So this will be it for me on the topic, I sincerely hope.
