2. because John’s baptism was a type or shadow, it didn’t place one in Christ, remit sins, nor give the Holy Spirit, therefore one needed to have Christian baptism that Peter preached in Acts 2:38.
3. Jesus was baptized as He explained “ to fulfill all righteouness”. The baptism marked the ceremonial beginning of His public ministry and gave us a picture of the One True God ( Father, Son and Holy Spirit )

He only Incarnated in order to be the forerunner for Paul.

Then I think it would follow that baptism in and of itself was not what saved or produced forgiveness since Jesus’ sacrifice did that but rather baptism showed that repentance and changed relationship to God.
