mm: Once you are saved, you are God's responsibility. It's up to Him to correct your theology and lead you into all truth.

MB: Here we have the ultimate buck passing. You are not responsible for your sins - Somebody else is.

Did I say that or are you misrepresenting what I said again?

MB: Therefore you get a free pass no matter what you do.

You mean like the mafia hitman who's a good, practicing Catholic and can just go to confession, which the priest is bound to keep silent about, and confess his sin and pay no legal or civil penalties, but takes a few trips about the rosary and voila' he's all free and clear.

And in case that's not enough, he can stack up some good works feeding the poor and get that get out of purgatory free cards.

Or maybe he can just buy some indulgences......Kind of pre-pay.

Not only here, but in many of your posts.

You keep on saying that you were raised Catholic and then you spout antiCatholic nonsense like this. Is your memory faulty?

Something's gone askew down at the mill. Is this faulty memory or are you simply spewing antiCatholicisms in the hope of justifying leaving the Faith?

Mark, I notice that you included this quote from metmom’s post. I’m going to comment here that EVER SINCE I mentioned working in my church’s lunch program with a group of ladies who all contribute, metmom and her group have all made it a matter of ridicule to feed the hungry, mocking soup kitchens, claiming that Catholics use deeds as a get out of hell free card, etc.

Smvoice is another who seems to think that following Christ’s clear scriptural direction to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit those in prison and heal the sick is somehow trying to “earn” salvation. This is so false. Those of us who love the Lord listen to His word, and do what we can for Him, as He said, “Inasmuch as ye do it unto one of the least of these, ye have done it unto me.”

It seems to be a matter of pride for the harpies that they have done NOTHING, for fear of looking as though they might be trying to earn salvation (which no one can do), rather than in gratitude and love for the Savior who gave up everything, they can’t even ladle a bowl of soup and must ridicule those who serve in obedience to His will.
