If you are a Catholic, you are part of the first schismatic movement which left the established church because it desired to abandon the foundational practice of reading scripture in the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic. So bitter was the split that the Roman schismatics refused to help contain Islam (the very same Islam we face today) until the Muslims penetrated deep into Europe. That certainly showed those churches bitterly clinging to their Greek and Hebrew - let them fall to Mohammedans.
Be sectarian all you want, this is your heritage.
